Crossroads Irish Dance is one of the leading Irish dance institutions in Richmond, VA. Established in 2001, we have committed ourselves to provide quality and age-appropriate instruction in a fun, upbeat, welcoming environment that is encouraging for all. No matter what class or level you’re in, our dance family and the team are a super dedicated, passionate, and supportive group of people. We create an atmosphere that sets dancers up for success as they discover their own Crossroads journey. We aim to encourage a widespread love of dance, welcoming children and adults who want to be a part of our family.

About Crossroads Irish Dance

Located within Richmond, Crossroads is one of the most comprehensive Irish dance facilities within Richmond, VA. Our studio is located off of Midlothian Turnpike and welcomes all who want to develop a love of Irish dance, increase coordination, build long-lasting friendships, and drive self-confidence.

Since 2001, Crossroads has inspired over 300 dancers in offering a fun, enriching learning environment with inspiring instruction. Crossroads started with just 5 Irish dance students and a small group of dancers in the Troupe. The school has grown into a recognized brand within the Richmond community and has evolved into a full-service dance school offering preschool, recreational, adult, performance, and competitive program opportunities.

To ensure classes are suitable for those who attend, we offer a range of options, age groups, and abilities. Whether you are aiming for a professional career, looking to stay fit, or finally ready to give dance a try, we have a class for you.

The teachers at Crossroads have a vast range of experience across disciplines. Our collective approach is to share our love of dance while being supportive and encouraging.

Our Vision

Our vision is to create a welcoming home where everyone can experience the magic of Irish dance. This beautiful, enriching art form is an incredible tool that builds confidence, character, and friendships. It is through our passion and love of teaching dance, that we strive to provide exceptional coaching and leadership to our students. We continue to strive to instill the importance of etiquette and manners, we also focus on good self-esteem and positive body image.

Our Mission

At Crossroads Irish Dance, our mission is to foster life-long friendships, lessons, and a love of Irish dance that our dancers can take with them forever. When teaching age groups, we strive to provide exceptional leadership, building talent, and developing life skills such as confidence, discipline, and respect. As we believe a person never stops learning, we work hard to ensure our approach extends to all our students, from children to adults. We’d love you to be a part of our studio and join our mission to instill acceptance, friendships, and wellness through dance.

Our Values

At Crossroads Irish Dance the lessons our dancers learn inside the classroom imprint values they take with them for a lifetime:

  • Safe and Age-Appropriate with an age demographic of 18mos to adults, we carefully ensure our curriculum is age-appropriate and safe for each dancer from music, costumes, lessons, and more.

Our Team

The Crossroads team is energetic, encouraging, and friendly having a range of skills they can share with our customers and students. One of our core values is excellence and service. When you join us you will experience a team of dedicated professionals who are here to give you nothing less than a premium service.

Amy Habel, TCRG

Amy is the CEO/Creative Director as part of our Executive Team. She is board certified with her TCRG teaching certification from World Irish Dance Association. She is a former Open Champion dancer and received the “Adult Master Cup” perpetual trophy with Feis Culkin in 2010. Since 1999, Amy has provided dance instruction to all ages in a range of dance disciplines including Irish dance, ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary and musical theater. Amy is dedicated to the strategic growth and innovation of the school to create the best experience possible for customers and dancers.

Patricia Ligon, TCRG/TMRF

Patricia is a Lead Educator as part of our Education Team and Director for the Crossroads Troupe. She is a Crossroads alumni who started Irish dance in 2006. She has competed in Irish dance competitions achieving the level of Open Champion and competed in Ceili style dancing. Patricia is a former Troupe dancer and served as Co-Director from 2012-2019. Patricia holds her TCRG/TMRF teaching certification with World Irish Dance Association (WIDA).

Emma Moore

Emma serves as Lead Educator on our Education Team and on our Speciality Programs Team as our Performance Group Director for our Performance Club. In addition, she is one of our Customer Care Champions on our Customer Care Team. Emma is a Crossroads alumni for 9 years and also was a Troupe dancer for 5  years. Emma was trained under the school’s Student Teacher Program and now is providing instruction to our Jump’n Jig and Crossroads Club dancers.

Isabella (Izzy) Vincenzes

Izzy (Isabella) is one of our Lead Educators on our Education Team. She grew up in New Jersey and then lived in Texas before coming to Richmond. She goes to school at UTSDA and has been dancing since she was in elementary school.  

Taylor Hawks

Taylor serves in multiple roles at our studio. She is one of our Lead Educators on the Education Team, Customer Care Champion on our Customer Care Team and Event Coordinator on our Engagement Team. Taylor is a Crossroads alumni who dancers with Crossroads in classes and on the Troupe from middle school to high school. She started Irish dance when she was 10 years old studying both in Germany and in the United States. 

Melissa DiGrazio

Melissa serves as our Customer Care Manager as part of our Customer Care Team in delivering a one-of-a-kind experience to our customers.  Melissa is a former studio owner and dance teacher. She loves sharing her love for dance with others and offering up the best experience possible to our customers.

Diane Rodriquez

Diane is one of our Customer Care Champions on our Customer Care Team. She has experience providing support in the school systems and loves working with people of all ages.

Zella Green

Zella is a JR Educator as part of our STEP It Up program.  She is a dancer in our Academy program and a member of the Crossroads Performance Club.
